TROPICAL JUNGLE EXPERIENCE

TROPICAL RAINFOREST PARADISE

You will have the chance to hike the Corcovado National Park with its abundant flora and fauna and visit the Cano Island of great archeological importance and will snorkel its surroundings to observe its marine resources. You will then visit Los Angeles Cloud Forest excellent for wildlife observation, especially birdwatching and finally end up in Manuel Antonio with its beautiful rain forest park and stunning white sand beaches. Hiking, snorkeling and kayaking are some of the activities you will enjoy throughout the trip.


ITINERARY

DAY 1: Welcome to Costa Rica!! We will pick you up upon arrival at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel in San Jose. Overnight at Residencias de Golf or similar.

DAY 2: We will take a short domestic flight to the southern Pacific. Once in the area we will have a 90 minutes boat trip down the Sierpe River viewing mangrove wetlands. Finally we will arrive to our jungle lodge where we will have lunch. The afternoon is free to explore the lodge's nature trails and the beach. Overnight at Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge or similar. (Lunch and dinner included).

The island is of great archeological importance because it was used as a pre-Columbian indigenous burial site. Some of the most interesting pieces found are large solid rock spheres made of granite scattered around the island. The area's most important attraction is marine resources. The ecosystems forested by the reefs provide the organic platforms for the maintenance of a great diversity of marine organisms, such as reef dwelling fish, mollusks, crustaceans and echinoderms among others. Marine life is abundant in the general vicinity of the island. Manta rays and dolphins can be encountered. Overnight at Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge or similar. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

The Park has an extension of 41,788 hectares and protects the last portion of Tropical Humid Forest of the Mesoamerican Pacific. This area is home to an amazing diversity of biological species. The area as a whole possesses thousands of species of flora and the diverse fauna is remarkable; the red macaw, the jaguar, and the crocodile are some of the species. We will hike through the park and a great deal of information will be provided. Overnight at Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge or similar. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Small cloud forest.jpg (7825 bytes)DAY 5: This morning after a hearty breakfast we will return up the Sierpe River and will then be transferred to the airstrip to take a short flight back to San Jose. Back in San Jose we will head towards Los Angeles Cloud Forest to enjoy the amazing vegetation and abundant wildlife of the cloud forest. At this cloud forest we will experience a higher adventure at the canopy tour, which provides us a splendorous view of the canopy of the cloud forest combined with adventure from platform to platform. Overnight at Villa Blanca or similar. (Breakfast included)

DAY 6: Today we will head towards Manuel Antonio National Park area, well known for its stunning wildlife and beautiful beaches. Once in the area we will go hiking at the Manuel Antonio National Park. Whiteface and squirrel monkeys, two toed sloths and raccoons heavily populate its primary and secondary forests. A great deal of information will be provided on the history, flora and fauna during this hike. Finally, the park has three exceptionally beautiful white sand beaches that you will also be able to enjoy after the hike. Overnight at Hotel Espadilla or similar. (Breakfast included)

Small waterfall.jpg (13049 bytes)DAY 7: Today will take our horses for a ride through the local country side and jungle. There is the chance to see toucans and other exotic birds. We will also stop on the way to take a swim in a beautiful waterfall. Overnight at Hotel Espadilla or similar. (Breakfast and lunch included)

DAY 8: After an enchanting and unforgettable experience, we will bring you back this afternoon to San Jose for your last day in the country. Overnight at Residencias de Golf or similar. (Breakfast included)

DAY 9: Finally, we will transfer you back from the hotel to the airport for your departure, wishing you had enjoyed your stay with us and hoping to serve you again in the future. (Breakfast included)
